Red Fox Wireless Gets Mention In “Hot Products Catching Our Eye”

By: Jake Morse, MapMyFitness Community Manager

Running and listening to music are two things I love.  In the past I have attempted to bring these two passions together but have never been able to handle the wires for more than a short run or ride.  The EDGE, produced by Red Fox, cuts the wires and connects via Bluetooth to any smart phone.  With on-device controls you can make phone calls and switch tracks with ease.  Supported by a whole ecosystem of products, the Red Fox EDGE has created a product (in my opinion) that works betters and sounds cleaner than any other sport focuses wireless headset.

Product Review: EDGE Wireless Headset with Custom Hardshell Case

If you’re the type of person who loves to listen to music while working out, you’ve probably dealt with annoying headphone wires getting tangled and in the way. Headphone wires are not only a nuisance, they can also put you in a potentially dangerous situation and that is exactly why Red Fox Wireless created the EDGE Wireless Headset.

Out for a solo lunch time ride in Red Rocks Canyon, Red Fox Wireless Co-Founder Josh Cates’s wires became entangled in his front wheel during a fast descent, causing him to be thrown from his bike. Luckily he was OK and, lucky for us, from this scary situation came a game-changing idea: bluetooth wireless stereo headphones.

The EDGE Wireless Headset provides amazing stereo music sound without the use of wires. Whether you are tackling a particularly challenging mountain trail on your bike or pounding the pavement, bulky headsets and wires will never get in the way of your performance again. Red Fox designed these wireless headphones for athletes and thought of every feature one could want including:

• Built in mic for hands free phone calls

• Easy to use controls for play/pause, track forward/back, answer calls, and volume up/down
• Lightweight and comfortable to wear
• Will not fall off
• Hours of music play time with long-lasting battery life

Never again will you miss a chance to get outside and get moving because you are waiting for an important phone call. This headset is bluetooth capable, making it easy for you to stay connected, no matter where you find yourself. The EDGE Wireless Headset easily connects to your phone. Not technically inclined? Don’t worry- check out this video with easy to follow, step-by-step instructions.

Red Fox’s EDGE Wireless Headsets are the only headphones for athletes. Watch 4-time Olympian and Red Fox Athlete Hunter Kemper explain why he only uses Red Fox Wireless headphones while hitting the trail or goes for a run.

The EDGE Wireless Headset comes with a custom made EVA hardshell case so you protect your device from damage and for easy carrying when you’re not using it. We also provide you with the E-Fox 30-day money back guarantee so you can try them out, worry free. At most of these events you'll find Red Fox set up with booths or listening stations where you can come visit members of the RedFox Team in person, see our products in action, find out why world-class athletes like Andy Potts and Hunter Kemper train using Red Fox audio equipment and even buy your own setup before the race. Here are five of the biggest upcoming events. We hope to see you there!

1) The 2014 Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Sports Medicine Institute EXPO will be held January 17&18 at the George R. Brown Convention Center, which will also serve as the finishing point for The Chevron Houston Marathon. This combination marathon/half-marathon, which is limited to 25,000 runners and has a 6-hour time limit, is Houston's biggest single-day sporting event, with crowds expected to be near 1/2 million. This is a fast, mostly flat race course, certified by the USA Track & Field (USATF) and frequented by runners desiring qualification for the Boston Marathon.

This race starts out in Phoenix, goes on through Scottsdale and ends up in Tempe. Live music is provided every mile and this unique event also features a mini-marathon, a kids' race and a two-person, half-marathon relay race. Actual race day, which is on Sunday, caps off a 3-day Health and Fitness EXPO.

3) #TeamRedFox will be in Miami January 31 – February 1 for the 10th Annual Miami Marathon, run in conjunction with the Nissan Health and Fitness EXPO, which will be held at the Miami Beach convention Center. 5 Sports Where Wireless Headphones are a Must

Whether you're rocking down a rocky incline on two wheels or sedately scaling a technically troublesome cliff on a weekend climb, the tempo of the tunes in your head can be a big deal. For rock climbing, maybe you prefer Rachmaninoff to the Rocky Balboa theme song but one thing's for sure – whatever your chosen listening pleasure it's definitely got to be wireless!

Sports headphones have become all the rage recently, with more and more manufacturers racing to bring to market products designed for those with an active lifestyle who want the ability to bring their music with them wherever they go and for use in whatever activity they choose to engage. Wireless Bluetooth technology has made it possible to bring music to a wide range of sporting activities, from simple workouts at the gym to jumping out of airplanes and diving toward the earth at terminal velocity. Here are a few sporting activities where wireless headphones are a must.

Running – Whether on an occasional weekend jog or more serious long-distance marathon running, having your favorite tunes along makes it less boring, more interesting and, according to a 2008 study, music can increase your endurance during exercise by as much as 15 percent. If you've ever tried running with headphones tethered by wires you know how inconvenient that can be. With good Bluetooth headphones, you can also have hands-free access to your cell phone too.

Skiing and Snowboarding – Barreling down the mountainside at breathtaking speed can be punctuated perfectly by some sonorous sounds coming from your smartphone or MP3. No worries about icy wires and ill-fitting, easy to fall out ear buds when you're using a system designed especially for high-movement activity.

Hiking – A hike in the woods or up a mountain can be a great experience communing with nature and even more enjoyable when accompanied with some appropriate music provided through your wireless headset. Don't worry about snagging your system on low passing branches. Going wireless means going clean and hassle free.

Climbing – The solitude that surrounds serious climbing is perfect for the inspirational sounds of your favorite symphony or other special songs. No way this could be accomplished with traditional wired headphones. Going wireless opens up whole new vistas in outdoor enjoyment and climbing in concert with your preferred background music adds another layer of pleasure to your play.

Mountain Biking – The concept of Red Fox Wireless was born of necessity after the founder suffered a serious mountain biking accident as a result of his headphones snagging on a passing tr
ee branch and causing a catastrophic crash. Any mountain biker who has experienced a similar fate knows that being tied to your sound system through easy to tangle wires is not only inconvenient but dangerous as well. Now that problem has become a thing of the past.

Our wireless sport headphones are comfortable and durable, with exceptional sound performance and unparalleled mobility. The earbuds are adjustable and designed to stay put even during aggressive movement. Controls are easy to use and work for both music and phone functions, including a built-in mic and voice dialing. With 5 to 7 hours of continuous use at a time, recharges take just one hour. These wireless headphones are the bomb!
